Every February Agra hosts the world for 10 days on the feast of Taj Mahotsava. Among other things, this festival is a time when India displays its culinary inventions to visitors and home front as well.

Different dishes are on serve and a few foreign samples are also tried. Experts in local dishes confidently display their tantalizing dishes in a way that makes their exotic rival a weak competition. Agra cuisines are very special. Cuisines of Agra are very popular as well.

Some of Agra popular meat dishes are as a result of Muslim influence, which added more style to the northern city’s prestige. Visitors can find enormous satisfaction in the quality and taste of Kababs.

The Kababs are meat that are chopped up and soaked in spices, then place over burning charcoal hanging from sharp wooden rods called skewers. The aroma of Kababs are so inviting that many tourists often eat it before asking what it is; it’s also lovely to behold.

The Mughals also have special cuisine made from succulent sauce of milk, curd, cream and crushed nuts. While visitors to Agra have a wide variety of dishes to sample, many of them who are aware always look forward to the distinguished local sweets like petha and gazak, and saltish snack called dalmoth.

These famous sweets are made from a mixture of several dairy products with sugar or honey and place under medium to high temperature for consistency. The taste of these sweets remains in the memory of those who eat them, but it continues to be largely indescribable.

Many of these delicacies are served in restaurants across the city of Agra at varying prices, but as usual, Indian foods are hardly exorbitant compare to what obtains in other parts of the world. Tourists gorge themselves both from the sumptuousness of the dishes and from the fact that they are comparatively cheap.

Over all, you will find Agra to be a very interesting place. Agra is rich in culture and traditions. The cuisine of Agra is also under the effect of culture. You will find the use of some materials in almost every kind of dish made in Agra. The typical Agra cuisine is loved by a lot of people.
