All these dances of Amritsar are organized on the festivals and the events. The dances of Amritsar are very fascinating and heart taking. Some of the dances of Amritsar are discussed as below:
Gidda: Women had the different although not less enthusiastic dances in Amritsar which is known as the Gidda. In this dance the dancers ratify the verses which are known as the bolis. The bolis represent to the folk poetry. This is a dance which is performed on the beats of the drums. Besides the drums the performer also gives the rhythm by clapping the hands.
Bhangra: This dance is associated with Baisakhi festival.
This is a dance which is celebrated on the harvest of crop. This dance is also performed on the beats of the drums. This dance is performed in the circle in the laughing and leaping caper. This is a dance which is performed by the men. This dance is performed at all sorts of the celebrations, festivals, marriages and parties. This dance cuts the division of the education and the class.
Jhumar: This is considered as a dance which has been originally arrived from the Sandal bar which is now in Pakistan. This dance is now the part of the heritage of the Punjab folk. This is a dance of elegant step which is based on the precise rhythm of the Jhumar. The dancers performed the dance in the circle at the beats of the drum and also keep the sibilant and the soft chorus when performing the dance.
