As such Assam does not have a coastline or stands in close proximity to the sea but the place is known for the largest river island called Majuli. The river that flows through the state is Brahmaputra.

Majuli exists in the midway of the Brahmaputra course. It is located about twelve kilometers away from a place called Jorhat. If you visit Assam you can easily reach the place by the daily ferry service.

Assam is lush green state with beautiful sceneries that make it a very pleasant experience for the tourists. You may feel a lack of a beachside sit enjoy swimming but Majuli will not let you miss an opportunity to bask yourself in sun.

The place has many Satras which is chief attraction for the tourists and visitors.

However there are many Satras but the four main satras are Garamur Satra, Auniti Satra, Dakhinpat Satra and Kamalabari Satra. Jorhat is basically known for the large tea plantations whose greenery attracts tourists the most. Early morning tread in the pathway of these tea gardens and feel the fresh breeze of morning with reaping of women plucking fresh tea leaves. Brahmaputra owns a sacred place in the life Assam natives. They have a festival that is celebrated at the bank of Brahmaputra.

Majuli is a natural river island which when viewed from a distance allows the viewers to see the outline of the mountains surrounding the other end of the island. The atmosphere is calm and its serenity will evoke romantic feelings to fill your heart with ecstasy for such a wonderful and unique creation. Majuli has cultural significance as well. It is the place where the great saint Shankerdeva and his disciples met and worshiped the Deities that rule the world. In other words it stands a s a symbol of glory for the great Vaishnavite culture.

So as the above discussion shows, there are many beaches in Assam. Assam is a very pretty state. It is a very green state. There is a forest in this state. The rest of the state is also very green. The beaches are beautiful and as a result these beaches are a very big attraction for the tourists to visit the state of Assam. Assam is a very interesting place. The beaches are beautiful in their own sense and as a result lot of people visit Assam every year, just to visit its beaches.
