Wildlife in Assam is diverse and can be seen and admired at various National Parks located in the state. The wild life in Assam is according to the geography and physiography of the region. The Geography of the region is very important in this regard.

Kaziranga National Park

Kaziranga National Park is located in the central Assam and is a happy abode of Indian species of horned Rhinoceros. The national park of Kaziranga has a large area covered with dense forests, tall trees and shallow water pools that are surrounded by elephant grass that will come over to your shoulders.

Manas National Park

Manas national park is located in the foot of Himalayas and stands adjacent to the Nameri
National park, which is spread over the area of 200 sq km. You can easily reach this place by the easy road service.

Saikhowa National Park

Saikhowa National Park is the fourth national park of the state that is located in the Dibrugarh district. The park is divided in seven parts and the initial regions of the park are basically the wet and marshy regions while the rest are the green grasslands. Animals that reside at this place are Loepards, Slow Loris, Elephant, Indian wild buffalo, Gangetic River Dolphin, langur and wild dogs.

Rajiv Gandhi National Park

Rajiv Gandhi national park is a small garden that covers an area around 78 kilometers. It located in Darrang district of Assam. The large portion of this national park is grassland that is happy home for tigers, pigeons, teal and goose.

These national parks are a nice place to visit in Assam. There is convenient transport facility available in the state to move around the large jungles of these national parks. You can also access experienced guides to assist you through the entire journey. Assam is a colorful state that has rich culture and ancient history to back its exuberant customs and traditions.
