food of people here.
Bihar cuisine is basically healthy, simple and wholesome. Vegetables
are boiled mashed and seasoned with onion, chilies, tomatoes and
mustard oil.
Sweets from Bihar are favored throughout the country. Motichur ladoos,
kala jamun, Parwal mithai, kesaria peda, laktho originally belong to
this region.
Malpua, chiwra, sooji halwa, kadhi Bari, sattu are some of the
traditional savories and snacks of this region. Bihari non- vegetarian
food has a distinctive aroma and piquancy. The yummy Bihari kebabs
relished by many now found in food joints. These kebabs wrapped up with
rotis, are a delight to the young and the old alike.
Shami kebabs, nargisi kofta, mutton biryani, kuleecha, naan rot are
famous non-vegetarian food items.
This region being multi-linguistic, multi linguistic, multi-religious
and multi-racial pampers out senses with the most appetizing and
aromatic food. Bihari cuisine has numerous rice based dishes. The rice
cultivated along the Gangetic plains is rare, unique and of excellent
quality. The food is excellent here in Bihar.
