Wildlife in
Bihar is fully-fledged. It has tow national parks and twenty one
sanctuaries. It includes a hideout for wolves, a crocodile centre, a
sanctuary for dolphins, a jheel or lake for migratory birds.
Bihar houses
some of the most impressive wildlife’s in the country. The most popular
park is the Rajgir wildlife sanctuary, the Valmiki national park, and
the Hazaribagh wildlife sanctuary.
Palamau
Tiger Reserve- is situated in the Chotanagpur plateau.
It is the countries earliest tiger reserves.
The Betla
national park at the core of this reserve houses numerous gaurs,
chitals, wild dogs, wild elephants, boars and tigers. This deciduous
forest has innumerable bamboo, bel, mahua, sal and khair trees.

Valmiki national park- Tigers dominate here too.
Nilgais, leopards, chitals, jungle cats, wild dogs, hyenas, hog deer,
sambars and Indian civets are the other attractions of this national
park. This national park ranks fourth in tiger population It is located
in the west champaran region of Bihar.
Kaimur wildlife
sanctuary- Its inhabitants include, black bucks,
chinkaras, sloth bears, tigers, nilgais, hyenas and leopards.
Rajgir wildlife
sanctuary- This wildlife sanctuary in Bihar has tigers,
barking deer, leopard, nilgais and hyenas in abundance.
Hazaribagh wildlife sanctuary has a magnificent flora fauna.
Observation towers make it easy to keep a constant eye on the wildlife
sanctuaries. Hazaribagh has many picturesque spots and even offers boat
rides. This jungle is swarming with trees like the salai, asan, sal,
bamboo, kend and others. Besides dormitories and cottages, rest houses
are also available.
Bhimbandh sanctuary near Bhagalpur is famous for hot springs which has
a dash of radioactive element in it.
Udhwa lake bird sanctuary, the nagi dam sanctuary, topchanchi
sanctuary, Udaipur bird sanctuary in champaran are all important
shelters for migratory birds and resident birds.
We can conclude that Bihar is a wildlife haven to large number of birds
and animals. In general Bihar is located in the region where lots and
lots of animals and plants are found. People living in Bihar enjoy the
