The Birla Mandir
also known as the Lakshmi Narayan temple is built according to the
architecture of Orissa and is situated in central Delhi. This temple
was constructed in 1938 by Raja Baldev Das Birla and is dedicated to
lord Narayana and goddess Lakshmi.
The Jama Masjid was
built in 1638 and has a seating capacity of over 20,000. The mosque is
near the Red Fort. The domes, minarets, gateways and the architectural
beauty makes the tourists gape at the resourcefulness of the early
Indian architects.

Temples
Bahai Temple
is a marvel of contemporary architecture amidst the gardens and pools.
This temple is spectacular before dusk when it is flood lit. The temple
has no restriction on religions and is an appropriate place for
meditation. Iskcon Temple is a beautiful temple dedicated to Lord
Krishna.
This temple is sited
in few of the largest complexes in India. This elegant temple has
numerous Hare-Rama Hare-Krishna followers. Chattarpur Mandir is
dedicated to Durga Goddess. This is in south Indian style and is spread
over an extensive area with lovely gardens and lawns.
Throughout the year
devotees visit this temple, yet Navarathri festival attracts people
from far and wide. Bala Hanuman Temple is sited on the Ranmal Lake and
this temple has secured its position in the Guinness Book as this
temple chants the mantra Sri Ram, Jai Ram, Jai Jai Ram for all the 24
hours.
St. James Church is
the oldest church sited at Kashmere Gate. The dome is identical to the
Florence Cathedral dome in Italy.
Aurobindo Ashram is
in south Delhi adjacent to the Institute of Technology. Here the
devotees can meditate for hours. There are accommodation facilities as
well.
