The one of the most famous cuisines in Dharamshala is the Sidu which is a kind of the bread prepared from the wheat flour. This is the cuisine which is normally eaten with the butter, mutton or Dal. In many of the areas in Dharamshala another famous cuisine is the Ankalos which is prepared from the rice flour and is also termed as the dish of the festivals.
In the valley of the Spiti the buckwheat leaves are merged in the white flour and then the cakes are made of it which is called as the Aktori. The one of the famous cuisines in the area of the Sirmaur is the Patande.
A popular festival cuisine in Dharamshala, the Dham: Dham is a dish which is prepared only by the Botis. This is a cuisine which is served on the leaf plates or the epattalsi. In some of the regions the distinctive menu for Dam starts from the madrah of Rajma, Moong Dal and rice which is cooked in the yoghurt. This dish is followed by the dark lentil and the boor ki Kari and is topped from Khatta which is made from the gur and the tamarind.
Cuisines in Dharamshala are adopted by the diverse Religion: In the cuisine of city one will find the diversity according to the religions. For example as the some of the Hindu Brahmins will not eat the garlic, onions meat and gingers which means that a very special cuisines came for them, whereas on the other hand the Muslims and the Christians loved to eat the meat.
