Mala Dance: The Mala dance is also known as the garland dance and also is considered as the most popular dances in Dharamshala. The local people also called it as the Kayang Mala Dance. The dresses which are wearied in this dance are manufactured form the very fine fabric.
The dancers shift the arms in unity to make the pattern form of the criss- cross. Before the starting of the dance a very traditional and the special drink is given to the dancers, that is prepared from the rice brew and is also termed as the Chhang. This drink provides the more of the energy to dancers which help them in dancing.
Dalshone and Cholamba Dances: In this dance the dancers acts like the serpents. This is a dance which usually belongs to the valley Ropa, but has been the very famous dance in the entire state. The Cholamba is a dance which is performed on the festival of killing the tiger.
The Rakshasa Dance: This is a dance which is performed by the community of the Kinnaur. This dance is also termed as the demon dance. In this the costume of the dance consists of the demon masks. This is a dance which is performed by the people who lives in the areas which are highly populated.
Shan and Shabu Dances: These two are the most famous dances which are performed in valley Lahaul. This is a dance which is performed in the temple of the Buddha which is known as the Buddhist Gompas. This dance is performed to give the tribute to Buddha, Shan is considered as the prayer which is thus offered to Buddha. This is a dance which is performed after harvesting the crops. Shan and the Shabu dances are the dances of the tribal.
These all dances of Dharamsala are the essential part of the culture of the state. |
