Their food contains Pulses, Cereals, Rice, Vegetables and complements such as chutney, pickle, buttermilk, pappad and salad. They make abundant use of garlic, ginger, jaggery and green chillies. Other delicacies

Besides regular food, they commonly prepare variety of dishes and snacks. Dhokla, a steamed cake prepared from gram flour paste is very popular. Similarly, Doodh Pak is a milk sweet; a spicy snack called Sev- Ganthia; a Kadhi prepared from yoghurt, Undhyo is a delicacy prepared in winter in earthen pots, Shrikand is a sweet prepared from yoghurt flavored with nuts and saffron and Suter Pheni is also a sweet.

The Gujarati cuisine menu list is mouth watering always and never ending process. A Gujarati ‘thali’ is a plate offering a variety such as savory vegetable, fried snack, butter milk, nuts, yoghurts, lentils, sweets, rotis and steaming hot rice with dhal. So tempting and varied is the palate that there is no choice but to turn for vegetarian food willingly.
