The holy dip on this day is considered to make the people sacred and happy for their coming lives. The urge for being happy and sacred the huge crowd comes in every twelve year. The major story that lays behind gathering if such a huge crowd is that it is supposed to be the place where the sacred nectar (Amrit) drops were fallen at the time of the fight between the gods and the demons.

Holi is celebrated with full enthusiasm and with large number of colors which can be seen at the Ghats of Ganga. On the other hand Diwali is considered as the festival of light which make the city of Haridwar to glow up in lights at the time of nights. This festival of Haridwar is also very important.
