Haridwar is the place which has the holy river Ganga, the religious air and a large number of temples. The gateway to god has immense devotion to the gods and goddess and as a result a large number of tourists come to have a look to the large number of temples that are situated at the city of Haridwar.

Among the chain of temple which Haridwar posses there are some temples which can be considered as the major gems in this chain are as:

Mansa Devi Temple in Haridwar- Mansa Devi is situated at the bank of the river Ganga and the location of the temple is the peak of the mountain which can be accessed by the trolleys which costs Rs 100 per head and if you want to make it through legs then you can opt for staircases. The temple is dedicated to the goddess Mansa Mata which is a sacred goddess of the Hindus.


Chandi Devi Temple in Haridwar- the temple is also on atop of the mountain. The temple is dedicated to the goddess Mansa Mata. The temple is supposed to be established in the year 1929 AD by the King Kashmir Suchat Singh. The belief about the temple is that the main statue at the temple is situated at its place by a great saint of India named Adi Shankracharya.

The Neel parbat can be easily accessed through the temple it is just a distance of six Kms from the temple of Mata Chandi Devi.

Another important temple in Haridwar that is considered main by the devoted people who come to Haridwar is
Daksh Mahadev Temple in Haridwar- the Daksh Mahadev Temple in Haridwar is dedicated to the Lord Shiva. The Daksh Mahadev temple is situated at the south of the Kankhal.

The ancient story that is related to the temple is that at this place Daksh Prajapati, the father of Lord Shiva’s wife did a yagya in which he humiliated her daughter for coming uninvited this made sati to burn herself into fire. At this lord Shiva got angry and cut the head of Daksh from his shoulders later on he made him relived with the head of some another animal.

There are many small temples in Haridwar which make the holy place Haridwar a place worth seeing and which also holds a great responsibility in making this place as a holy destination for the devotion of many people. Haridwar temple make you fell closer to god.
