Introduction

Prominent places of visit
Harayana is merely at a short drive from Delhi and has lovely places of visit such as Badhkal Lake, Jungle Babler, Surajkund, Karna Lake, Sultanpur, Dabchik and Kurukshetra. Surajkund is popular at international level for its Surajkund Crafts Mela that is held to promote the Indian handicrafts and arts. This is held in the month of February every year at Surajkund. Dumdama is actually a lake encompassed by enchanting Ranges of Aravali and entertains various other activities such as paragliding, rock climbing and ballooning. Due to these activities visitors throng to such places.
Sultanpur is a water bird reserve with lawns, shrubs, trees and bougainvillea masses. This is an ideal place for bird watching as numerous species of birds migrate from European countries and settle here and is worth watching during the months of September to March. Kurukshetra is a battle field of the famous epic, Mahabharata. The ‘Gita’ message given by Lord Krishna was parted in this significant field. Even today, this attracts pilgrims.
