Arts and crafts are a fundamental possession of any region. Every region has its own arts and its own craft.

The arts and crofts of Kashmir have been influenced by the native culture of Kashmir. They are famous all over the world. This is because these skills have come fro endless training that commenced since the artisans were young. They undergo lots of training, practice before they can craft any handicraft. Paper work

Jammu and Kashmir people are very good with hand work, arts and craft. The paper and adhesive is used deftly by crafting into various shapes, drying and painting.

Embroidery

The arts and crafts are represented by shawls, carpets, wall decorations and rugs. Their products are so famous that they have found a place in almost all the houses in the world. Their work is a significant testimony to their artistic skills and the embroidery works enhance their talent. The crewelwork done with a hook and chain stitch are one of the wonderful techniques employed in Kashmiri embroidery.

Carpets

Kashmiri Carpets are prominent all over the world. The delicate workmanship on the carpets and the materials such as silks and fine wool are used to make the carpet rich in look and expensive. You can shop while you are in tours and make a great collection.

Rugs

Kashmiri rugs are woven on loom or also made by using embroidered ornate motifs. The woven rugs are petite version of Kashmiri Carpets. Purchasing these rugs is fine memento of your tour to Kashmir.
Similarly, shawls, a pheran, a traditional garment, a tweed, silk textiles, wood carvings and brass or silver ware covered with printed silver murals are magnificent and are ideal to purchase while on tour.
