Introduction:

Jharkhand is more popularly known as land of woods or we can also call it vanachal. The state of jharkand was separated from Bihar in the year 2000 on 15th November.

The date mentioned is also very important as it is the birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda.

The capital of jharkhand is Ranchi, which is also known as the industrial city of the state.Ranchi is well known as the industrial city.

Jharkhand shares it border with west Bengal to the east, Uttar Pradesh and chattisgarh to the west, Bihar to the north and orissa to the south.

Jharkhand as mentioned came into existence on 15th November 2000 as becoming the 28th state of the nation which it was dreaming from centuries. Jharkhand largely comprises forest track of Santhal Pargana and chotta Nagpur plateau as it has diverse cultural tradition. Jharkhand state which is emerged from Bihar the lower literacy rate, poor infrastructural facilities, dismal health scenario and low level of livelihood. There are dreadful social practices of large families, child and early marriage, superstitions and dowry. These all indicates the low level of state.

History:

According to the historians even before from the period of Magadha the state of jharkhand was existed as the geographical and cultural entity. Raja Jai Singh was made the ruler of jharkhand by its people in the 13th century. But he was not able to do fair and clear justice to the people of the state so the people approached the rulers of the neighbouring state who were able to do more clear and fair justice. This was the turning point in the history of jharkhand as they were much more powerful and have great armies they moved towards the state and create their own rule their.

The demand for separate jharkhand came into existence in the early 1900s, when an Indian hockey captain and Olympian Jaipal Singh suggested the idea of separate jharkhand state consisting the southern districts of Bihar. But the idea did not came into existence as however when the Parliament of India passed the Bihar Reorganization bill on August 2,2000 to create a new state of jharkhand giving 18 districts to the jharkhand from the Bihar. As on 15th November 2000 the jharkhand become the 28th state of India.

Geography:

Jharkhand is surrounded by Chhattisgarh and Uttar Pradesh to the west, Bihar to the north, West Bengal to the east and Orissa to the south. Jharkhand is located in eastern India. It covers o geographical area of 79.70 lakh hector. Jharkhand is a state covered by forest. Forest supports the population of Asian elephants and tigers.
