Betla National park:
This National Park spread over an area of 250 km and is located in
Ranchi- at Daltonganj road. Wild life found in this park includes
rhesus, sambhars, spotted deer, pythons, wolf, antelope, giant
squirrel, blue bulls, mongoose, bison, wild boar, elephants, languor,
tigers. Betla village is the only entry point to the Park. This Park
has plenty of wild animals. The best time to visit Betla is between
October and April but the wild life sightings are highest in the hot
season May and June.
Jaivik Udyan or Zoological Park:
This Park is located in Ranchi at Ranchi Patna road. It is situated at
a distance of 16 km from the city. This place is visited by many
peoples in every year. It is located near Ormanjhi.
Hazaribagh National Park: This Park is 135 km away from Ranchi. Animals found in this forest are tigers, panthers, bison and spotted deer.
Rajgir wild life sanctuary:
This wild life is situated on Patna – Ranchi highway. It covers the
area of 36 km. The region here is tropical and full of deciduous
forests. This sanctuary is richer in barking deer, hyenas, nilgais and
leopards. A typical monsoon climate prevails here.
Bhimbandh Sanctuary:
It consists of area of 682 sq km and yet it is another home to a
variety of wild life. The sanctuary includes the variety of animals
like panthers, nilgais, wild boars, tigers, chitals and sambars. The
forest here located is famous for hot water springs. |
