Karnataka has been the home of famous and powerful dynasties of ancient India. Most of the kings of above mentioned dynasties were religious and had great love for temples; therefore there are numerous temples in Karnataka with the class act of architecture.
The above mentioned dynasties were later followed by Vijaynagara Empire, but they were vanished by an association of Islamic sultanates. This incident led Karnataka to a culture of Urdu Persian flavor and Indo saracenic architecture. There are various examples of this architect as well and Gol Gumbaz of Bijapur is the finest one to this style.
