Bandipur national park is the largest park of Karnataka as for as area is concerned and it is popular for tiger and Asian elephants. Bannerghatta national park was also established in the same year and has been an attraction of wildlife lovers for a very long time for tiger and lion. After a long period of establishment of above mentioned two parks, in year 1988, government started Nagarhole national park to protect wild life.
