Historical
Places
Anjengo is situated in the North Thiruvananthapuram it is a ideal place
for those who do not mind walking around. Bhoothathankettu, a scenic
dam site with boating facilities is situated in a vast virgin forest.
It is
situated 50 km North East of Ernakulam town. East Fort the Fort area in
the Capital City of Thiruvananthapuram bears a lot of historic
significance.
The fort has
several beautiful places, palatial houses and Brahmin houses. In the
front of fort Padmanabha Swamy Temples situated and dedicated to Lord
Vishnu.

Beaches
Kovalam beach one of
the finest groups of beaches it has three crescent shaped beaches
separated by rocky outcroppings. The main beach is called Light House
Beach for its 35 meter high light house which towers over it atop
Kurumkal hillock. Other famous beaches are as follows Alappuzha Beach,
Cherai Beach, Kappad, Marari Baech, Varkala, Fort Kochi and
Muzhappilangad Beach situated at Kannur.
Back
Waters
It is famous for
back waters it attract tourist very much some of the back waters
destinations are as follows Kettuvallam is the main back waters
destination it known Kerala Houseboats. Alleppey is known as Venice of
the East. Vallam Kali is known for the Snake Boat Race organized every
year in the month of August. The back water channels include five major
Lakes including Ashtamudi Kayal and Vembanad Kayal.
Hill
Stations
It is also offers
numbers of hill stations Western Ghats, have high mountains, deep cut
valleys and gorges. The wildest lands are covered by dense forest while
other areas come under Tea and Coffee plantation and also use as form
of the cultivation. Western Ghats also offers hill stations destination
like that Nelliyampthi, Peermade, Ponmudi, Wayanadand, Kottanchery
Hills and Munnar is a beautiful place to visit with the lush of wide
spread Tea Gardens. In Munnar one unique event happen once in twelve
years blooming of Neelakurinji shrub.
Wildlife
It is come under wet evergreen rainforests. Kerala contains 9,400
square kiliometers natural forest including some reserve areas like
Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve with abundant flora and fauna. Some wildlife
sanctuaries also present like that Periyar and Eravikulam National Park.
