Meghalaya has eighty five percent of tribal population. Well, in some of hilly are called Garo, Meghalaya has ninety seven percent of tribal people. One of the largest communities followed by Garos is Khasis. Well, here is short idea about tourism in Meghalaya.

Meghalaya has very clean water in the rivers, at the same time people of Meghalaya are very friendly and welcoming.
Once Indian leader, Sardar Vallabhai Patel visited Meghalaya and he stated that Meghalaya is land to live for gods. He included in his statement that, “Meghalaya has pure air, beautiful scenery, with that it has clean and unpolluted atmosphere, at same time it also have sweet water, which draws, even god to live at such attractive and gorgeous place”.
Meghalaya is considered to be one of the most attractive and beautiful state in all over the country India. Meghalaya is located in the eastern sub Himalayas. Well, the town called Cherapunjee is viewed to the most famous tourist point, in the north east direction of India. Shillong is capital city of Meghalaya. Cherapunjee is in the south of the capital city of Meghalaya Shillong.
