Mysore temples, India is innumerable and has a significant and special place in this culture. Most of the temples are renowned were constructed by the royal families especially during the reign of Wadeyars. The Wadeyars strongly believed in religious practices and built numerous Mysore temples.

These temples were constructed in and around the popular Mysore palace and the fort were designed to provide easy accessibility to the royal family members. The popular temples are usually adorned and ornate with various elaborate sculptures and Hindu mythological figures.

There are several important Mysore temples. The Prasanna Krishnaswamy temple, the Trineswaraswamy temple and the Shwetavarahaswmay temple were constructed under the rule and supervision of Krishnaraja Wadeyar.

Goddess Chamundeshwari is considered to be very powerful as she killed Mahishashura. The presiding deity is worshipped with devotion as she resides in the Chamundeshwari temple on the Chamundi hills. The royal family is a patron of this Goddess and the temple has then been developed.

Though the Chamundeshwari temple is at a height of 3000 ft and there are 1000 steps to reach you to the temple, the road access takes pilgrims comfortably.
