There are many tourist attractions in Nagaland

Kohima
Kohima is the state capital of Nagaland and one of the most beautiful places of Nagaland. The battle of Kohima was fought here where the British and the Japanese forces clashed during World War II.

The British stopped the Japanese in their tracks and the battle lasted for almost 3 months. To commemorate all those who died here, the British erected a cemetery in the honor of the war heroes.

The Kohima Cathedral is the biggest in Asia and can seat 20,000 people if all areas are occupied. The Cathedral is spread over an area of 25,000 sq feet.

Dimapur
Dimapur is the commercial of the state and has many beautiful ruins for the tourist to see. MEDIEVAL RUINS OF THE KACHARI KINGDOM. The city was the capital of the Kachari tribe during the 13th century, the influence of Hinduism is clear here and there are ruins of other temples and embankments.

The DIEZEPHE CRAFT VILLAGE is 1 kms away from the city and has expert weavers and craftsmen who are very adept at wood carving, bamboo and cane works. The RANGAPAHAR RESERVE FOREST is home to many animals, birds and vegetation and covers an area of 20.20 hectares.

Mon
Mon district in Nagaland is extremely picturesque and has many beautiful places. Naginmora is located at a distance of 58 km from Mon and has great panoramic views. The only coal mine was founded here more than a century ago in 1907.

The Longwa village is peculiar since half of the village lies inside India and the other half in Burma, but the whole village is controlled by a single chief known an the Angh. He also has 60 wives and his jurisdiction goes up to Arunachal Pradesh. All villagers have dual citizenships and the village has schools on both sides.

Nagaland is divided into many districts and the natural beauty of the state is splendid. Most of the sate is under various ethnic tribes. There have been violent clashes in the past and the history of Nagaland has been quite gory.

To the outsiders, these tribals may seem rough but they extend hospitality to all their guests. Tourists are advised to seek permits before they enter Nagaland and observe local customs and traditions when visiting here. Have fun and enjoy your stay while you are in Nagaland.
