It is because North India Cuisines, like much of the cuisine throughout India is inspired by the vegetarianism that has existed all over the country for a very long time, especially within the Jain and Hindu communities.

This has made the cuisine a very important part of North India culture and what one will find is that the types of food that are enjoyed in North India actually varies based on the region. One of the staples of North India Cuisines is rice. There are approximately sixty varieties of rice that exists. These varieties include toor, chana, mung, urad, and many more.

Chana is the type of rice that can be used in many different forms. It can be cooked whole and it can also be made into flour. Other areas of India may use such oils as vegetable oil or even mustard oil. You can know that anything fried that you eat in North India has been fried in Groundnut oil.

However, one of the most important parts of North India Cuisines is the spices. The spices are what are responsible for the unique flavor that you will not find anywhere else. Some familiar spices include cumin, black mustard seed, tumaric, garam masala, bay leaf, ginger, chili pepper, tejpata, cinnamon, cardamom, clove, and many more.

Many of these are recognizable throughout the world and some of them may not be. However, it is how the se spices are incorporated into cuisines in North India that gives them that unique flavor. North India cuisine is delicious.
