The town is located near Bhubhaneshwar, and is famous for the rock edit
that was erected by Ashoka, the great emperor after the Kalinga War.

These places are known for their carved & polished Jain caves

Nandankanan
Set in Chandaka forest, its one of the finest parks in the country.

are many safaris that are organized by the wildlife parks. There are
any endangered species that can also be viewed. The Botanical gardens
are also situated here.
Konark
temples
Konark temple has been built in the shape of a chariot and is dedicated
to the Sun God. It was built in the 13th century by King Narsimhan
Deva. The cost of the temple used up the revenues of the state for 12
years. Konark was an important port town from even during the early
centuries and was also known to the European travelers. It was
nicknamed the Black Pagoda.
