Rajasthan
India is known all over the world for its great tourist attractions as the nation is by itself quite diverse. It has the snow laden lofty high-ceilinged Himalayas in the north and the heated, thirsty sands of Rajasthan to the North West.

Rajasthan has a great history that is highlighted by the continuous presence of the gallant Rajputs. This region was called as Rajputana. Rajputana means ‘Land of Kings’. This state shares a border with Gujarat and is quite close to Delhi, the national capital.

The land has witnessed several rulers ranging to insignificant regional kings to ripple creating monarchs and also emperors annexing to their respective kingdoms.

Geographical features
The land is also geographically important as it has a backbone formed by the high Aravalli ranges to its South East direction. It was also an important spot that fell in the route of transporting spices, silk and also valuable stones.

These resources were extensively used by the ruling sovereigns who obtained a lot of money by taxing the movement of these materials and thus obtained the funds required to build the palaces and other monuments that the land is sanctified with. The land was once susceptible to various invasions but presently shares a western border with Pakistan.

They use minimum water in their cooking and enhance it with milk, butter and buttermilk. Liberally they make use of beans from plants such as sarigri, ker, etc and dried lentils.
