Chail Wildlife Sanctuary in Shimla
The Barking Deer and the Kalijin are part of the attraction of this wildlife sanctuary. Also includes a number of animals like Black Bear of Himalayas, Sambar, Goral, Leopard, Red Deer, Oak which is Silver-White, Rhesus Macaque, Common Giant, Barking Deer, Porcupine, Kashmiri Squirrel, Marten which is Yellow Throated, and Chir can be found here. |

Churdhar Sanctuary for Wildlife in Shimla
The major attractions which this place has are multi-colored and lively Monals, Barking and Musk Deer, Black Bear, Leopards as well as Langurs. This sanctuary can be located at Solan in Shiml and it is the highest peak in outer Himalayas.
Daranghati Sanctuary for Wildlife in Shimla
The site is famous for its Black Bear of Himalaya, Ibex and Palm Civet, Flying Fox, Indian Hare, Brown Bear, Barking and Musk Deer, Striped Hyena, Goral, Leopard, Marten which is yellow throated, Serow, Flying Squirrel, Blue Sheep and Weasel from Himalayas. This sanctuary has undisturbed forest area and is located in the upper area of Shimla District.
Kurfi Wildlife Park Shimla
The park in fact is abode of Himalayan Brown Bear, Sloth Bear, Panther, Snow Leopard, Tibetian Wolf, Barking deer, Ghoral, Sambar, Himalayan Thar, Yak and Black Bear. Situated in the southern part of the state, it is visited by many skiing enthusiast on winter.
Majathal Sanctuary: A residence to a number of Cheer pheasants and Gorals that can be observe in its natural habitat. The wildlife park in fact is in Solan, Shimla with a steep and rugged terrain away from habitation. It is best to visit this sanctuary on winters and to prepare oneself for an outdoor stay in the tent. Shimla wildlife is well preserved in these places.
National Park of Himalayas: This wildlife sanctuary is known worldwide for their migratory birds which are the tourists’ attraction. Birds such as monal pheasant, flycatchers, tragopan and bearded vulture among others are available for viewing at the park. Also, an exotic variety of animals are seen here wandering around the snow-covered, black and brown bears, Himalayan civet and bharal to name a few. The park is also surrounded by blue pines and oaks making it conducive for relaxation and nature tripping.
