There are several places to visit within Uttarakhand. The state enjoys lots of tourists all around the year.

The land is also known throughout the world for the lovely scenery and the impeccable tourist destinations. The state has a northern part that is a fraction of the lofty Himalayan Mountains. The Ganga as well as the Yamuna, two of India's prominent rivers rise up from the springs that are located within this state. Both these rivers are extremely important for all the Hindu devotees. They are also fed on their path by several streams, lakes and other watery regions of the state.

Places of Significance Beauty

Almora is a mountain resort offering beautiful views of Himalayas. This place is known as town of temples and is prominent for its healthy climate.

Badrinath and Kedarnath are temples of Lord Shiva and Vishnu. These are one of the significant destinations for centuries. Badrinath is one among the four Dhams that a Hindu should visit in his lifetime. This was established by Sri Shankaracharya.

Kedarnath is also a significant shrine among Shiva temples. This temple is supposed to have been constructed by the Pandavas. This is one of the twelve Jyothirlingas.

Corbett National Park covers an extensive area and has been a great attraction for tourists and wildlife enthusiasts.

Dehradun is snuggled in the Himalayan mountain ranges and has excellent accommodation facilities. It has educational centers and is well connected by railways and roadways.

Gangotri in the Himalayas is supposed as Ganga the sacred river to touch the land for the first time.

Yamunotri is the source for Yamuna River and the trek on the river bank is magnificent amidst the panoramic mountains.

Haridwar is on the River Ganga bank. This is the holiest place for Hindus and once in 12years a Kumbh mela is held.

Rishikesh is a popular pilgrim centre and the actual gateway to all these 4 shrines.

Mussorie is the queen of hill stations. Nainital is dotted by lakes and is an expanse of scenic beauty.

Ranikhet is a place of pristine charm with natural beauty overwhelming the tourists.

All the places in Uttaranchal or Uttarkhand as the official name is a place that captivates the tourists and compels them in revisiting this place.
