The land of Uttaranchal is known as Uttarakhand officially. This change of the official is recent yet the land had not changed much. The land is still as friendly and as it was centuries ago. The land is sanctified by the presence of temples. India is a land that several key places to visit.

The nature of the people is so warm that even a stranger feels at home and does not want to leave behind such an amiable environment. Such places are always visited by tourists and have lots of tourists all over the year. This land is speckled with popular with shrines as well as temples. You cannot take a turn devoid of ringing temple bells and is one of the significant reasons to be known as Devboomi, the land of Gods.

Significance of Temples

The natural beauty of this place is a compliment for the tourists who come to visit this holy place. The temples are ancient belonging to the 8th century and are renovated frequently owing to the destruction of natural calamities. Some of the prominent temples are the Yamunotri temple, Badrinath temple, Gangorti temple and the Kedarnath temple. These main four temples are popularly known as ‘Char Dham Yatra’. It is believed that a devout Hindu should visit this place once in his life time.

Besides these significant temples, the other temples are also very important. The temple at Rudraprayag is dedicated to Lord Shiva. This temple is amidst kunds and holy ponds. Anusuya Devi temple is adjacent to Rudraprayag temple and devotees offer homage at Rudranath to their dead as it is believed that the dead soul passes through Rudraprayag. Naina Devi Temple is above the Naina peak.

Mansa Devi temple is also a famous temple of Haridwar. You can use a ropeway or trek to this shrine. Madmaheshwar Temple is in Rudraprayag district amidst the natural scenery. The water here is supposed to be very pure that few drops are enough for feeling the purity. Gauri Kund is a temple possessing hot water spring and is a great attraction. Chandi Devi temple and Baijnath temples are also significant temples. None of the temples here are worth missing.
